The Lead 📬
LeBron James took charge as Team USA edged past Germany 92-88, scoring the team's last 11 points and totaling 20 in the exhibition match. This win wraps up Team USA's pre-Olympic run with a perfect 5-0 record. The lineup featured Steph Curry, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid once again. Kevin Durant sat out due to a calf injury, raising doubts about his availability for the Olympics opener against Jokic and Serbia on July 28th.
ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips announced the conference's intent to continue battling lawsuits aimed at keeping Clemson and FSU within the ACC for the foreseeable future. The current ACC TV deal, expiring in 2036, pays member schools $23 million annually, while Big Ten and SEC schools earn over $50 million per year. Both Clemson and FSU are eager to leave, but the ACC is determined to hold them to their agreement. With the Pac-12 dwindling to just Oregon State and Washington State, eyes are now on the ACC as the next possible domino to fall.
Warner Bros. Discovery is offering the NBA a $1.8 billion per year deal to keep games on TNT. This is a significant increase from their current $1.4 billion nine-year deal, which ends next season. The NBA, however, might consider partnering with Amazon instead who also offered $1.8 billion. If accepted, the new deal will ensure NBA games are televised every night of the week starting in the 2026 season.

This win marks only the second victory for the A's against their division rivals this season, bringing their record to 2-6 against Houston. Two more games remain in this series.
